Streakers, in a traditional sense, are few and far between nowadays. In today’s game, many pitch invaders simply don’t have the…ahem…balls to pull off the all-nude, over-the-barrier, run around anymore. Well…most pitch invaders don’t anyway.
Enter the scantily clad dual-threat trying to enter the Eden Park pitch on Saturday evening.
In footage filmed from the Auckland stands, the two unnamed men were tackled by stewards on the slippery turf before being dragged down to their knees. While one member of the offending party found his entry route blocked, the other created a cheeky distraction to get away.
Shedding his boxer shorts like a snake sheds its skin, the optimistic streaker dropped his underwear to stretch away from the defending security guard. Once up and away from his tackler, the now-naked man dive-rolled over the advertising boards before aquaplaning towards the middle of the field and the action.
His ascent to streaking glory was almost stifled by an incoming diving tackle from a secondary steward – but his footwork was too good. He goose-stepped the opposition before making himself available for the next Chiefs attack.
It wasn’t easy but success never is… Last night’s Eden Park Streaker showed will and determination that would match any seen on the field in the ground’s illustrious history! pic.twitter.com/KH8Hs3sU5K

He couldn’t get his hands on the ball during his foray onto the field, however, after soon being accosted by the only remaining stewards still standing.
Chiefs captain Luke Jacobson joked about the pitch invaders after the match, saying: “A few nuts and bolts out,
“You’ve got to just laugh at it. It’s not ideal for the game, but it’s not a distraction for us at all. We just let the security guards deal with that, the ref calls time off and we just get on to the next play. Happy days.”
Opposition Blues player Patrick Tuipulotu was more concerned about the distraction it caused, particularly after facing defeat at home, saying: “It was a bit of a distraction, but where we were in that game, we were just trying to focus on trying to claw something back,
“For us, it didn’t really take away from us and what we were trying to do. I do feel sorry for the security, though.”
