Spain and Namibia went to battle two weeks ago in a game that saw some end-to-end action.
For Spain the fixture was a great opportunity to get back on the horse following their removal from the World Cup for fielding an ineligible player.
This removal from the tournament was a gut-wrenching incident for a country that had suffered the same fate just one World Cup ago. As a sport, Rugby appears to really be growing as was evidenced by the sold-out crowd in Spain’s recent clash with the Classic All Blacks.
Speaking on eligibility, it was interesting to note that just 61% of the Spanish squad in this clash were considered Spanish players whilst the rest were from other nations most notable Argentina and Cameroon.
Despite this, it is great to see the sport of Rugby continue to grow its depth in terms of more nations developing and thus becoming more competitive.
Spain would go on to win the 34 – 15 but it would Namibia who would score the try of the match from a turnover following some incredible interplay by the Spanish.
