Last weekend saw the Cheetahs playing host to the Highlanders in a bottom half of the table Round 12 Super 14 game that ended with an extremely exciting 20 mins of rugby. The Highlanders edged out the hosts 31-28, after being reduced to 13 men during the closing stages of the game.
One of the tries of the match though came early in the second half, when Highlanders flanker Adam Thomson started and finished off this flowing move that began deep inside Cheetahs territory.
The turnover saw Thomson race upfield, get the ball out with a neat backflick to Paul Williams, who then returned the favour and sent the flanker over the try line to retake the lead for the Highlanders.
Sevens specialist Thomson has been putting in a number of good, skillful performances this season, as seen in our
Pick of the Week from Round 3
.
Pieces of skill like this make the game look so simple, and make coughed up turnover ball all the more costly.
