All Blacks and Crusaders hooker Codie Taylor received a yellow card during Saturday’s Super Rugby Aotearoa final against the Chiefs for taking out Damian McKenzie in the air.
The fellow All Black and Chiefs full back leapt high to catch a long overthrow at a lineout in the second half in Christchurch when Taylor took out his legs in the air.
Despite pulling out of the challenge almost immediately, McKenzie did a full summersault and landed on his back.

After a lengthly review, referee Ben O’Keeffe showed Taylor a yellow card for the incident which in the northern hemisphere may well have been a red.
Easy red. Codie Taylor sees him in the air and goes for him. No way around it unfortunately. #CRUvCHI
