All Blacks captain Sam Cane has come in for some criticism on social media following an incident during his team’s 41 – 12 win over Argentina.
Taking their round one clash of the 2023 Rugby Championship with ease, the Kiwis appeared to be back in top form.
Whilst their victory over Argentina was immensely impressive, the men in black will be all too aware of the challenge that awaits them in round two against the Springboks.
The reigning World Champions the Boks beat Australia comprehensively whilst missing several front line players who are already in New Zealand preparing for round two.
Yet, for all of their impressive work on the pitch, Cane has been forced to apologise for kicking a streaker.
During a break in play, someone managed to get onto the pitch whilst evading several security guards.
Unfortunately for the rampaging fan, Cane was having none of his antics and decided to take matters into his own hands.
Utilising a quick shift of the boot, Cane kicked the fan who hit the ground before bouncing back up and sprinting off.
Whilst many will be torn on this incident, as the captain of the All Blacks Cane immediately copped criticism for his handling of the situation.

Goes without saying, but this is not a good look for the All Blacks captainpic.twitter.com/M6baJk518A

That’s not the expected behaviour and standard of a professional rugby player ….let alone a captain of a country. Surely there will be severe consequences to this – v poor form
