Andries Coetzee has reinvented the wheel with inexplicable passing technique

Lions and Springbok fullback Andries Coetzee appears to have taken a liking to a truly unorthodox kind of pass, the kind that’s usually seen during warm-ups on the training field. Saturday wasn’t the first time he’s done it either, as you can see here with another clip from last year.

It’s quite effective for bulleting a ball across the field, but one has to ask, wouldn’t the same have been achieved by passing normally? It’s probably his weak side.

Watch this space to see if he does it more regularly this year. Maybe he’s onto something!
