The world player of the year had two flashes of brilliance setting up a Toulouse wonder try.
Toulouse scored a possible try of the season contender in their loss against Castres this weekend. The move was sparked by a brilliant break on the half way line off the base of the ruck by Antoine Dupont. The french scrum half made it within inches of the try line before being prevented by a superb cover tackle.
Dupont then got to his feet and completed a pinpoint cross field kick into the grateful arms of winger Juan Cruz Mallia who dotted down in the corner.

Toulouse’s wonder try was eventually in vein however as they were defeated 19-13 by Castres. The hosts, who Dupont himself used to play for, opened the scoring which was followed by a drop goal and a second try.
The win sees Castres extend their impressive home record and leapfrog Toulouse into 4th place in the Top 14. Toulouse on the other hand are in a poor run of form, losing 6 times over the six nation period whilst without their flock of French internationals.

After the game, Dupont was not concerned about his world class try assist, “We are not at the maximum of what we are capable of doing,” he said.
“We didn’t show our best face today, even though we were there with intensity, commitment and spirit — but that’s not enough.”
Toulouse are next in action on Saturday for the first leg of their Champions Cup tie with Ulster, whereas Castres have the following fortnight off before facing Clermont at home.
