Bristol Bears prop Kyle Sinckler has come under fire after using strong language towards referee Karl Dickson during Saturday night’s Premiership match against Exeter.
The England prop was upset by a tackle made by Chiefs hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie and in the style of John McEnroe screamed “are you fu*king serious?”, at the match official while play continued.
Really poor form by Kyle Sinckler screaming “Are you Fu**ing serious” at referee Karl Dickson. They are ex teammates but it should have been a yellow card. We berate footballers for similar so we don’t want this in rugby and should respect the ref! pic.twitter.com/m4zWaIwIGV

Dickson called over Sinckler for a stern telling off and after referring to the TMO, awarded a penalty to Bristol. Credit must go to Sinckler for apologising on social media for his language, but some fans and ex-players have suggested the prop deserved further punishment on the field.
REACTION:
Want to apologise for my reaction today. Not the example I want to be setting. Heat of the moment stuff. Will make a conscious effort to improve. My bad 👊

How does Kyle Sinckler swear at the referee and get away with it. Hardly in keeping with so called core values.

No apology from @KyleSinckler is the issue I have with this moment on the field. To perpetuate such perceived entitlement is wrong. Great players are great ambassadors. #GoBriss pic.twitter.com/yXWQPVcNNK

This wasn’t pleasant for my 7 year old to hear, however, apology goes a long way, so, Thank you and congratulations on your win. Stay safe!
