The Gallagher Premiership returned this weekend as Bristol Bears continued their winning run with a spectacular victory over Leicester Tigers.
Bristol Bears demolished the Tigers at Mattioli Woods Welford Road as they earned a record-breaking 10th straight Premiership win on the road to go top of the table. The first forty minutes were filled with tremendous tries, the half time score being 40-12 to the Bears – the highest half-time score in Premiership Rugby history for Bristol Bears. The Bears performance throughout was reminiscent of the Harlem Globetrotters, going on to win 54-19.
Gabriel Ibitoye was instrumental in the build up for the Bears fifth try, which was eventually scored by winger, Rich Lane. Ibitoye’s one handed pass allowing Lane to score will likely go down as one of the tried of the season. It was sensational with a capital S. It was a blistering 40 for the visitors and a game that will live long in the memory for Bristol Bears fans.

Reaction from Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam
“I was particularly pleased with the second half defensive display. Obviously, scoring 50 points at Welford Road is huge for us. Attack is in our DNA but it was great to see the defensive effort as well.
It looked like our training today. I don’t believe in attack and defence sessions in training, it is about rugby sessions. My message early on after we messed up the first three attacks is don’t go into your shells because it is on if we can execute the skills”
