Beauden Barrett sent fans of Toyota Verblitz into rugby ecstasy as he supplied the perfect grubber kick to provide his side with a last-minute victory against Yokohama Conon Eagles on Saturday.
The match, which took place at the Paloma Mizuho Rugby Stadium, was filled with world-class talent including teammate Aaron Smith, as well as international rivals Jesse Kriel and Rohan Janse van Rensburg. Japan Rugby’s League One has attracted many of the world’s big names, with the league now becoming one of the most watched around the globe.
This time around, it was the fortune of All Blacks, Barrett and Smith who would take the plaudits, as Taichi Takahashi slid over to score off the back of a 31-phase play.
