Toulon’s Francois Trinh-Duc should expect some lingering soreness after a 22-13 loss to Racing 92 and a jarring tackle courtesy of prop Ben Tameifuna. The tackle was deemed high and late by the referee, while Trinh-Duc lay prone on the deck for several moments.
It’s one thing to expect a hit while taking the ball into contact but this late shot by the monster Tongan international, who is one of the largest players on the planet, was brutal.
Thankfully, Trinh-Duc was able to collect himself after a few moments before shaking hands and continuing the match. That he could get up at all is a testament to his toughness.
In the end, Toulon couldn’t overcome Racing’s three tries, including a magnificent Teddy Thomas score.
