Gallagher Premiership side the Leicester Tigers have confirmed their replacement for former head coach Dan McKellar whom they parted ways with on Saturday.
Releasing a tweet the Tigers unveiled that Michael Cheika will be their next head coach and will link up with the club ahead of next season.
The 57-year-old Cheika brings a raft of experience to the club having previously coached Leinster, Stade Francais, the Waratahs, Australia and Argentina.
Winning a Heineken Cup and league title with Leinster, Cheika then moved to Paris and guided Stade Francais to a runner-up spot in the European Challenge Cup.
Returning home to Sydney following seven years in the European leagues, Cheika would go on to lead the Waratahs to a first ever Super Rugby title in 2014.
This success at club level saw the former Randwick standout be elevated to the international game as he took charge of the Wallabies in 2014 on a three year deal.
Having an immediate impact on the set-up, Cheika guided the Wallabies to a Rugby Championship title and a place in the Rugby World Cup final in 2015.
On a personal level his success in 2015 saw him named the World Coach Of the Year.
Following his time with the Wallabies, Cheika would take over as head coach of the Green Rockets in the Japanese League before taking over as head coach of Argentina in 2022.
Despite his time with Argentina being short, Cheika guided Los Pumas to a first ever victory over the All Blacks in New Zealand before taking the South American country to the 2023 Rugby World Cup semi-finals.
