Brian O’Driscoll has starred in a classic Guinness advert alongside his old colleague and friend Keith Wood, as he takes direct responsibility for Ireland’s 2019 quarter-final loss against the All Blacks.
Starting by speaking directly to the camera, BOD states in a somber mood, “I need to get something off my chest that’s been weighing heavily for a few years now”, before adding “You see, I feel partly responsible for the lads loss in 2019.”
Adding some context to the story, BOD explains, “I might have said on the podcast that they were gonna go all the way. I totally jinxed it. All I can do is apologise and say won’t happen again. Help me spread the message around the country, you can think it just don’t jinx it.”
He continues as he is joined by the former World Player of the Year and Irish legend, Keith Wood, for which O’Driscoll adds, “And if you do, touch Wood”

Captioning the video, O’Driscoll says: “So here it is, basically, I’m sorry. I may have played a part in jinxing Ireland in 2019. Whatever you do, learn from my mistake. It’s okay to dream big – just remember, think it, don’t jinx it! And if you do… touch wood.”
