We have fully entered award season, with World Rugby announcing the 15s Player of the Year and a host of other awards for both the men’s and the women’s game.
Jonny Sexton, Josh Van Der Flier, Lukhanyo Am, and Antoine Dupont were nominated for the men’s Player of the Year award. Sexton won the award back in 2018 at the very top of his game, whilst Dupont won the 2021 version after a phenomenal season for both Toulouse and his national side, France.

With two Irish nominations for the men’s award, the odds were very much in the favour of the men in green. Reaping reward for his phenomenal season, Josh Van Der Flier took the top award in the men’s category.
