Ange Capuozzo is arguably one of the most exciting young players in world rugby at this time. With rapid footwork and an eye for the try line, this speedy Italian has become talismanic for his country over the past year or so.
Winning the World Rugby Men’s Breakthrough Player of the Year Award at the end of 2022, Capuozzo has shown all the promise of a future world beater. Not just content to tear apart a struggling Wales side in last year’s Six Nations, the flying Italian has been tearing defences from head to toe in domestic and European cups too. He signed for European titans Toulouse midway through last year in a clear indication of his huge potential.
Backing up the hype is a speciality of Capuozzo’s, able to carve magic out of nowhere and with very little space, this magician always seems to find a way. His epic ability has been highlighted once again this weekend as he demonstrated his very best superman impression – quite literally flying over the try line.
Receiving the ball 10 metres out, and with the opposition defence rushing towards him, Capuozzo trusted his speed and went hurtling towards the whitewash. Diving headfirst through the air he touched down with an incredible finish.
