Newcastle took an early lead against playoff-chasing Harlequins in this afternoon’s match at the stoop. A breakaway try from the northeast side broke the deadlock at the Twickenham Stoop despite some sustained pressure from Harlequins.
Chasing a kick following a quick breakaway, Newcastle speedster Adam Radwan put pressure on the retreating Marcus Smith as he attempted to recover the ball near his own try line. Misjudging the bounce of the ball, Smith found himself flying over the top of it and popping it into Radwan’s hands.
Instead of then simply dotting the ball over the line himself, Radwan unselfishly found his teammate Mateo Carreras to whom he popped the ball for his 13th try of the season.
