Wales legend Alun Wyn Jones found himself on the receiving end of what many at the time felt was a terrible referring decision.
Having just taken to the field from the bench in Wales’s tightly contested second test match with South Africa’s Springboks in July. AWJ was looking to make an immediate impact on the contest.
Certainly not in the manner he intended to, the giant lock found himself leaving the field nearly immediately after he entered it.
As outrage poured through social media as fans justifiably felt he had been hard done by. A new camera angle has recently appeared proving that referee Angus Gardner was actually correct with his call.
Breaking down the image, AWJ’s hand clearly makes contact with the ball thus making it unplayable for the Springboks.
