The Chiefs let a 20 – 15 lead slip with just minutes remaining in their Super Rugby final against the Crusaders.
Conceding a penalty at the end, Chiefs and All Blacks captain Sam Cane was shown a yellow card and as such was off the pitch as the Crusaders drove over for a game defining try.
Richie Mo’unga would put the Crusaders in front with a conversion and with it sealed a 7th consecutive Super Rugby title.
Showing their frustration at perceived inconsistencies across the match, the Chiefs fans would boo the match officials as they took to the stage for their match medals.
Sam Cane would then be met with a raucous cheer as he spoke on the podium in a true show of respect for their long-serving skipper.
