As the year winds to a close, Super Rugby teams are already in preparation for the upcoming season. Here is an interesting look at what the Chiefs have been up to in the Waikato region, as they mix training with community involvement as they build towards season kickoff.
The week recap includes fitness tests, gym work, boxing and breakdown physicality, as well as heading out into the community to meet with local school kids.
While it looks fairly relaxed and even jovial at times, this is just the start of what will be an intense next few months of training. After missing out on a final spot this year, they will be working hard for a better finish in 2018.
They start their campaign on February 24th with a New Zealand derby against rivals the Crusaders, before their first home game takes place on March 16th against the Bulls.
They also recently explained the deep meaning behind the new jerseys.
