Clermont defeated Toulon 46-21 in a pre-season match on Friday night at Stade Felix Mayol. As this video shows, Clermont’s marauding Fijians absolutely could not be stopped, putting on a powerful display, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect this season.
Although still pre-season, this result should help heal some wounds from Toulon’s 49-0 beatdown of Clermont the last time these two teams met back in March.
With both powerful running and perhaps some poor tackling, the visitors delivered one painful blow after another.
Clermont will be particularly happy to welcome back Alivereti Raka from last year’s season-ending knee surgery. He along with fellow countrymen Apisai Naqalevu and Peceleli Yato clearly look fit and ready for the upcoming Top 14 season to begin.
