Fainga’anuku’s opportunity presented itself after a quick line out was overthrown by Wellington inside their own 22-metre line.
The ball travelled the width of the pitch with Wellington failing to control the ball on several occassions before 19-year-old Fainga’anuku fell on it to score his second of the match.
Tasman went on to win the game 45-8 in Blenheim and make an early statement in round one of this year’s competition.
