Wales legend, Dan Biggar, has collapsed while running up to take a conversion for Toulon in a recent Top 14 match against Perpignan.
The 112-cap Welsh fly-half has returned to club duties following Wales’ recent defeat to Argentina in the World Cup quarter-final in Marseille. Biggar didn’t have far to travel after his national side’s exit, however, as he vacated Marseille to head slightly east to Toulon, rejoining his teammates for the fresh Top 14 season.
It was his reemergence in Toulon colours, a slightly different shade of red to Wales, that would inevitably lead to his unfortunate injury downfall. Leading up to what many expected to be a trademark Dan Biggar conversion, the great playmaker pulled short with what looked like a lower back injury.
He was just ten minutes into the match when the injury occurred. Following a beautifully pinpointed cross-field kick that found Charles Ollivon’s grateful clutches to clinch five points, the experienced number ten was ready to line up the touchline conversion – sadly it was not to be.

🤞 A concerning watch. Hope it’s nothing serious for Dan Biggar. #Top14pic.twitter.com/2i5XjbVtix
