Quins and England legend Danny Care has released the first of his ongoing YouTube series, documenting the life of an ageing rugby player.
Retaining an impressive hairline, and a knee which requires only the odd sprinkle of WD40, it was only earlier this year that the England centurian announced his retirement from the international game. Now approaching 38 years old, the speedy scrum-half has made the plunge into his ‘YouTube era’, as he gives fans a better insight into the day-to-day life of an ageing rugby player with a family of three children.
Released just yesterday, Care’s brand-new YouTube series delves into life beyond the matchday, giving an inside view of the comradery off the pitch, the hard work behind the body, and the joy that family life provides away from the club.
The first episode, titled ‘Can I make it to 20th pro season?’, starts with Danny at home with his young child as he spends quality time with his family. To show the sheer contrast that home and work life can have, the film shortly moves on to his rehabilitation efforts on his knee as his meniscus is essentially worn away, which he describes as a result of ‘old age’.
The video progresses to his work with the Harlequins physio, dispalying the exercises that allow him to rehab properly, as well as his downtime with the lads…who certainly ensure that Care can’t take himself too seriously:

Announcing his autobiography towards the end of the video, Care stares down the barrel of 1000 book signings, before signing off with a YouTuber’s slogan of “like and subscribe.”
New videos are released every Thursday – we’re sure many of you will be eagerly awaiting the next instalment!
