Opinion is split between fans over Dane Coles’ disallowed try in round three of the Bledisloe Cup on Saturday.
The veteran hooker was deemed to have knocked on the ball over the try line having shown impressive pace to get on the end of a cross field kick from Richie Mo’unga.
The original decision from referee Ben O’Keeffe was a try but after a TMO review the conclusion was that Coles did not have control of the ball when making downward pressure.
Coles, 33, has made more than 70 appearances for the All Blacks and is recognised as one of the fastest and most illusive hookers in world rugby.

Kiwi’s kicking a lot today and working out well. Dane Coles playing as winger there 👏Some refs would’ve given that one #AUSvNZL

Toughie that one… yellow? Might be fairest, was it malicious or was he going for the hand off? I don’t know but I always look for the best intention.
What a try though, definitely a try for Dane Coles. Bad decision. Attacker should always have benefit of the doubt. #AUSvNZL

Tbh you could’ve saved yourself a lot of time by checking Dane Coles reaction. Not celebrating a try against the Aussies?? Clearly didn’t think he’d grounded it #AUSvNZL
