Reigning Rugby World Cup champions South Africa got their Autumn Nations Series campaign off to the perfect start with a 32 – 15 win at Murrayfield.
Racing out of the blocks, the Boks scored the opening try of the fixture inside three minutes as Makazole Mapimpi got on the end of a pinpoint crossfield kick.
Twenty-five minutes later, Bath loosehead Thomas du Toit pounced from a line-out mix-up to race away for his first try in the green and gold.

Closing out the scoring for the first half, Mapimpi once again got on the end of a kick for his second of the afternoon in a performance that will have surely catapulted back into the conversation for more game time throughout the tour.
Whilst there is no doubt the Boks were the better team, Scotland will feel slightly aggrieved by the 20-minute red card which Christophe Ridley brandished in the direction of second-row Scott Cummings.
Getting caught awkwardly at a breakdown, Cummings was adjudged to have Croc rolled Bok lock, Franco Mostert.
Cooly raising the issue with Ridley, Eben Etzebeth got the match officials to check the incident, which at first glance appeared to link backrow Rory Darge with the incident, but in the end, it was Cummings who was removed from the action.
Clearly clamping down on the dangerous motion, the referees were left with little choice but to act on the incident. This didn’t, however, stop fans from racing into a frenzy online as they debated the merits of the clean-out attempt.
