Ellis Genge had been in rampant form throughout this game – but it was his intervention with the stricken Negri that earned him the most plaudits online. We see as the 26-year-old immediately sees that his opponent is seriously hurt and calls over the medics before anyone else has noticed.
Fans praised the England prop for his actions on social media.
Huge credit to Ellis Genge for getting the medics on for the Italian player. Looked nasty. #ITAvENG

Total sportsmanship by Ellis Genge, calling for the medics for his opposition and shielding that player too. Well done @EllisGenge #ITAvENG

Even though I am a proud welshman @EllisGenge has proved himself to be a British lion, his power, that pass, and most importantly his immediate care for an opposition player in need of care, proper rugby player
