South Africa’s 30-23 win over Argentina on Saturday was error-riddled throughout, so when flyhalf Elton Jantjies failed to clear the ball from a dangerous defensive position in the second half, it didn’t come as a huge surprise to fans. Adriaan Strauss on the other hand, had a front row seat.
The Springbok hooker took the full brunt of the kick straight in the face, and miraculously stayed standing. In fact, he barely flinched, despite Jantjies booting it with quite some force.
One of the most comical aspects of this falcon is that Jantjies barely apologised, looking more like he was annoyed with his skipper for getting his big melon in the way!
