Former Wasps winger Ali Crossdale was one of the many players who found himself at a loose end when the former Gallagher Premiership club went into administration.
Becoming a free agent after being made redundant by Wasps, Crossdale was immediately snapped up by Top 14 side Perpignan (USAP).
The 26-year-old, who had also previously enjoyed a spell with Saracens, has gone on to carve out a great role for himself with the Top 14 outfit.
A regular in the matchday squad for USAP, the former England squad member is amongst a host of players whose performances continue to put pressure on the current England selection policy.
Highlighting his try-scoring prowess once again this weekend, Crossdale rounded off a superb counter-attack try against the high-flying Bordeaux-Begles.
Pouncing on a knock-on by Bordeaux inside their own twenty-two, USAP pounced as they flung the ball wide.
From here, the ball was put to boot, and Crossdale went haring after it.
In his way, there was the minor inconvenience of French superstar winger Damian Penaud, who was no slouch.
As if he was gliding over the ground, Crossdale left Penaud in his wake before grubbering it forward and nabbing it one the bounce.
USAP went on to win the match 37 – 30 and, with it, pulled within three points of sixth place Racing 92, who will face fifth place La Rochelle in the final round.
This fixture between the two sides above them combined with their own home fixture against ninth place Pau puts USAP in pole position to secure a coveted top six play-off spot.
