Yesterday we reported that Exeter stalwart Dave Ewers was departing the Devon-based club, and today we bring you more news as the Chiefs grip on players becomes looser.
Former club captain Joe Simmonds has agreed to join Top 14 side Pau next season. The 26-year-old has been a part of the club since 2015, and will no doubt be a huge miss to the former European champions. Simmonds was the youngest player to captain a side to victory in the final of the European Cup, for which amongst other accomplishments, he was awarded an MBE by the Queen.
Simmonds is expected to come in to replace Zack Henry, leaving for Stade Français. Former England and Wasps scrum-half Dan Robson will be waiting for him as he looks to sign contract extension with Pau.
It was confirmed just a few months ago that brother Sam and teammate Luke Cowan-Dickie would be joining Montpellier following the conclusion of the World Cup.
