It wasn’t to be for Rob Baxter’s men yesterday as Exeter Chiefs lost to Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership, 28-15.
Despite a brace of tries for the Exeter wing, Tommy Wyatt, he won’t want to watch the replay of his knock on in the build up to his second. On 56 minutes, Wyatt’s attempt was fumbled over the line after a crucial tackle from Leicester’s Ollie Cracknell dislodged the ball from the Chiefs winger’s hands. He won’t want to add that one to his highlight reel! Much of some delight to the Chiefs fans, he scored shortly after a Chiefs scrum penalty but it wasn’t to be for Rob Baxter’s men in the end.

Exeter Chiefs picked up their first win of the Gallagher Premiership last weekend against Gloucester at Sandy Park and were hoping for a second against the Leicester Tigers. Whilst Tigers drew with Harlequins at Big Game 16 at Twickenham and were hunting for their sixth win of the campaign. Home advantage and four tries allowed Tigers to secure a win who now sit fourth in the Premiership table before they take a break for Europe.
In other news, Gloucester bounced back from their defeat and scored five tries against a depleted looking Sale Sharks at Kingsholm Stadium yesterday afternoon. Whilst Saracens and Harlequins also secured wins against their opposition. Now we look ahead to Northampton v Bath this afternoon. Can Bath remain top of the table after their humongous win against Saracens last weekend? Or can Northampton keep their play-off hopes alive with a win at home?
