Every season kicking seems to be taking a more pivotal role in the tactics of modern rugby, but over the years we’ve witnessed some truly shocking attempts at the art.

YouTuber Andrew Forde has put together a montage of some of the worst kicks ever seen including Chris Ashton’s Toulon howler, James O’Connor’s blooper for the Reds and the most bizarre restart ever imagined.

Some shockers have become iconic over the years such as Geoff Parling’s attempt at a grubber kick for the Melbourne Rebels, but Lionel Beauxis’ volley miss for Stage Français remains one of the all time greats.
