This news followed confirmation that Leinster had retained the services of first-choice hooker Dan Sheehan on a new two-year to complete what was quite possibly the most productive business day in the province’s history.
Leinster make major All Black signing
Barrett will join Springbok secondrow RG Snyman, who will join the Dublin-based club from rivals Munster next season.
The announcement of Barrett’s signing has been met with mixed reviews by the wider rugby public, whilst Leinster fans were understandably ecstatic.

What is the point? Seriously, I mean, what is the point in being alive? https://t.co/BEMFSrrgCS

Six Nations and Lions cover. A guy returning back to the province where he spent part of his childhood. Not too hard to comprehend 🤷♂️

Success breeds resentment.
It amazes me all the haters of irish rugby just because we’re getting it right the last 2 decades , the previous 100 years we were ordinary.— Derek Mahony (@dellerm93) April 15, 2024
Quite simple really, if you want to be the best you’ve got to play with the best. Jordie is at his peak and not at the end of his career. A win-win for Leinster and JB. It’s a master stroke!

The point of being alive is to laugh when they fail to win anything for even longer. I mean we get to hope for that but it’s becoming inevitable they will win everything soon

Ulster are in financial crisis, but on the same day that all of Irish rugby contributes to a central contract, that financial space is used for an AB 10/12’s sabbatical that means Irish players will not get game time there.
That system is now actively undermining Irish rugby.

I was thinking about that there. The IRFU aren’t helping the situation and they are undermining the academy system. The last marquee signing by Munster was Oli Jäger and at least he can play, and does play for Ireland.

So Aki is 34 and Munster and Leinster will now have overseas 12s?
— Joseph Dwebam (@BoknRoll) April 15, 2024
Yep. Similar to Sarries a few years ago. They had the England contingent & all the superstars. Other teams in England struggled to keep up with that.
