Harlequins’ win over London Irish has been called ‘unjust’ by Ugo Monye – after a collision in the air was left unpunished in the dying embers of the game.
Irish, who were comfortably the best team on the day were leading 24-21 with the clock seconds away from the 80th minute. At this point, a contestable kick was challenged by Matthews from Harlequins and Van Rensburg from London Irish.
The Irish No.12 beat Matthews to the ball and was then seemingly smacked onto the ground while in the air and landed awkwardly on his head.
It seemed like a certain penalty at least, and many people in the rugby community are shocked that the TMO or referee did not pick it up.
Craig Maxwell-Keys, yikes. No penalty apparently. pic.twitter.com/3a47RBwI62

What compounded things for the away side is that Harlequins kept hold of the ball, won a penalty and eventually scored a winning try in the 85th minute – to cap of a completely crazy end to the match.
It is safe to say even Harlequins supporters will see the game as a lucky escape for their team.
PURE DRAMA! š„

Another breathless @premrugby encounter that leaves us open-mouthed. Quinsā escape artistry is legendary as we knowā¦ but v hard to see how Matthewsā challenge on VanRensburg was unpunished. Irish will be spitting. @btsportrugby
