A brilliant game in Italy was settled with an Australian conversion attempt with the clock firmly in the red.
Despite making 10 changes to the team that was narrowly deafted by France last week, Australia were firm favourties heading into the enounter. This isn’t to say however that Italy are a team to be underestimated, the home side are tipped to be on the rise, and today was testiment to that.
Italy started the game extremely well, socring a try and slotting a penalty within the first 20 minutes, and headed into half time 17-8 up.
In fact, they lead the encounter from start to finish and when the clock ticked into the 80th minute, the scores were 28-22 in favour of the hosts.
However, it looked as though thousands of Italian hearts were going to be broken when Cadeyrn Neville when over to pull Australia to within a point (28-27).
The up stepped debutant, Ben Donaldson who had the chance to slot a conversion to win the game for Australia in the 81st minute.
The outcome of the kick would be cruel either way – Italian heartbreak or a devestating debut???

Unforutnely for the Wallabies, the kick missed the uprights and cue immense celebrations from the Italians.
For so long Italy has been on a downhill slope, but now there is hope, belief and excitement around this young team – a huge day in the history of Italian rugby.
