England are in the midst of what would certainly rival any of their biggest losses in history as they trail Samoa 17 – 11 with 15 minutes to play.
Struggling to score tries, England have reverted to kicking penalties as they try to reel in the Samoans.
Having just been awarded a penalty straight in front, captain Owen Farrell had an opportunity to bring his team within three points.
Yet, as the seconds ticked away and Farrell continued to steady himself, the shot clock in the stadium was quickly coming into play.
As if in a state of flux, Farrell stood still as the clock went 5,4,3,2,1,0. In an almost surreally incident, his successful kick was disallowed leaving his team six points down.
Moments later, England would concede a scrum penalty giving Samoa some much needed relief.
