The World Rugby U20 Championship is in full swing in South Africa’s Western Cape.
In what has been quite possibly the most entertaining edition in the competition’s history, there have been several upsets throughout the tournament.
None more so than Georgia’s round two defeat of Argentina and Italy’s round two defeat of South Africa.
These two victories put the two underdogs in pole position to fight it out for a chance of a place in next week’s semi-final.
Heading into round three, Italy looked best placed out of the two teams to progress with a victory.
Yet, in a momentous clash, the Georgians secured a crucial 30 – 17 win at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch to take control of Pool C.
With nine log points not secured, should neither Argentina nor South Africa secure a bonus point victory later today, then the Georgians will feature in a first-ever U20 World Championship semi-final.
South Africa and Argentina will meet in the final fixture of today’s action at 19.00 local time.
