The Glasgow Warriors secured a first ever BKT URC title in impressive fashion as they downed the Vodacom Bulls 21 – 16 at a sold out Loftus Versfeld.
Sliding into a 13 – 0 lead courtesy of two Johan Goosen penalties and a conversion to go with Marco van Staden’s try, the Bulls looked to be on their way to a famous win late in the first half.
However with time about to expire in the first forty, the Warriors came racing back into the contest as Scott Cummings went over in the 40th minute.
Starting the second half well, Goosen would slot a penalty in the 51st minute to take his team more than a converted try ahead.
This would prove to be the South African side’s final points of the contest as Glasgow methodically went about their business.
Whilst the Bulls firmly held the edge at scrum time, the Warriors dominated at the maul as they have done all season and were rewarded as George Turner barged over in the 52nd minute.

Nine minutes later and Huw Jones would get his side’s first lead of the match as he raced away for a sublime try.
Once in front the Scottish side would never look back as they resisted several probing maul attacks from the Bulls to claim an incredible victory.
