Gallagher Premiership side Gloucester Rugby are a side renowned for producing electric outside backs.
Names such as James Simpson-Daniel, Jonny May and Louis Rees-Zammit, in particular, spring to mind when discussing the Cherry and White top finishers of the past two decades.
Looking likely to add his name to this prestigious list is the uber-exciting 20-year-old utility back Josh Hathaway.
Born in Aberyswyth in Wales, the speedster has represented both Wales and England at U20 level and has drawn comparisons to former Gloucester star turned NFL prospect Louis Rees-Zammit.
Noting his immense potential, Gloucester director of Rugby George Skivington spoke about his budding star following his three-try performance during Gloucester’s recent loss to Saracens.

āWhen you put the ball in his hands, he is world-class, and heās scored a good few tries like that,ā Skivington said.
Hinting at a bright future with the Premiership club, Skivington also briefly touched on Hathaway’s international future.
āHeās a big one for Gloucester, and potentially two different nations, and I donāt want him to get too far ahead of himself.
āHeās a good kid, he works really hard, and his natural position probably is full-back, but we just found a space for him on the wing, and heās quick enough.”
For Welsh fans in particular, the prospect of losing another potentially world-class talent to England following Immanuel Feyi-Waboso’s recent defection to the white jersey would be a tough blow to take.
Skivington on the other hand is less concerned about which nation Hathaway may play for but joking whether he could be lost from rugby!
āHeāll get exposed at both over the next couple of seasons ā we donāt want him to go to the NFL as well!ā The Gloucester boss said.
TRY!
