Perhaps the most famous drink brand in the world, Irish stout Guinness touches just about every corner of the globe.
The dry stout, which is now brewed in over fifty countries, has a long and storied history with the sport of rugby, namely the Six Nations.
From its primary base in Dublin, Guinness has sponsored the sport at various levels and remains one of the beverages of choice for many rugby fans.
Now less than a week away from Ireland’s opening fixture against Romania, Guinness has released a brilliant advert supporting the boys in green.
Poking fun at Ireland’s rather tumultuous past with the tournament, the advert opens with fans blaming one another for Ireland’s quarterfinal exit in Japan.
It then shifts to fans trying to use reverse psychology by saying Ireland aren’t going to win!
What is produced is a great piece of advertising that captures Irish fans’ mixed feelings about the upcoming tournament.
A competition in which they enter on the run of thirteen consecutive victories and are ranked as the world’s number-one side.
