Double Rugby World Cup winning flyhalf Handre Pollard joined his Leicester Tigers teammates Ben Youngs and Dan Cole on their podcast ‘For The Love Of Rugby’.
Discussing an array of topics, Pollard touched on a particularly funny tactic that his Springbok head coach, Rassie Erasmus, cunningly utilised to disrupt his opposition.
Going back to when Erasmus was a younger coach during his time with the Free State Cheetahs, Pollard said that the Bok mastermind lured his opponents into studying the wrong tactics when facing his team.
According to Pollard, Erasmus used to draw up fake line-out moves and have them printed off. From here, he would tactically place them in areas where his opponents would find them.
Taking this further, Erasmus would then have his team run these fake moves in the warm-up to complete the ruse.
This would then have his opponents in a false sense of confidence before launching different attacks and completely bamboozling the defence.
Ultimate Sh*thousery from Rassie (again)
