Last week, we featured a superb try from Otago in the Mitre 10 Cup, with Nasi Manu’s sensational offload for Vilimoni Koroi being tipped as one of the tries of the season so far. The latest round may just have taken that crown thanks to a zinger from Hawkes Bay in their win over Wellington.
We all love a good team score and Hawkes Bay’s try in the second half, finished by Neria Formai, was silky from the start.
Could this be TRY of the season?! š„š

Back-rower Devan Flanders won the turnover and the Magpies launched a wonderful 80m counter-attack which started through New Zealand Sevens star Kurt Baker.
Baker then switched with Marino Mikaele-Tu’u who in turn fed Formai with an off-load out of the tackle. Formai then passed to Lincoln McClutchie who dummied to Jonah Lowe and chipped ahead.
Formai then used his superior pace to touch down for a brilliant score.
Hawkes Bay went on to win the game 34-19, but that try was the stand out and rightly garnered a lot of praise.
