Huge guillotine tackle divides fans in viral footage

All players have dreamt about making that perfect diving tackle – the one where the crowd gets up on their feet and teammates are left stunned.

Now, unless you’ve been playing the ageless Rugby 08 video game, this dream will often remain just, that. For one player, however, the perfect diving tackle has become a viral reality.

In a clip shared on the Instagram page Champagne Rugby, a player channelled his inner Superman to propel himself into his opponent’s midriff, almost chopping him in half.

Fans have commented on the quality of the hit, as well as noting his ability to make sure it was a legal tackle.

One person joked: “My man saw Jesus that day”, while another added: “Guillotine tackle! Now you got two half players”.
