The Hurricanes completed a stunning 16-point comeback against the Sunwolves with a lovely 60-metre blindside try at the end of the game.
The Sunwolves had an attacking line out with 10 minutes left on the clock, but after losing possession due to an overthrow by the hooker, the Wellington franchise took full advantage.
Replacement hooker Asafo Aumua caught the ball and powered through the first tackle to put the Hurricanes on the front foot. Captain TJ Perenara then provided quick ball down the near touchline.
The ball transferred through three players to reach winger Wes Goosen, who kicked the ball into open space in the back field.
The 23-year-old showed impressive pace to get to the ball first, good ball control to hack it over the try line and the composure to gather it and score the points.
This try completed a fantastic comeback for the visitors, having trailed 23-7 at half time in Tokyo.
The Hurricanes now sit second in the New Zealand conference while the Sunwolves are bottom of the Australian leg in their final season of Super Rugby.
