Experienced referee Mathieu Raynal fled the French winter for the South African summer as he took charge of the matchup between the Vodacom Bulls and Exeter Chiefs.
Well, the above statement is partially true, Raynal took charge of some of the match.
Fifty minutes to be precise before he called over captains Ruan Nortje and Henry Slade to inform them that he would not be taking control of the final thirty minutes of action.
Unfortunately for Raynal he appeared to tweak a hamstring which rendered him unable to continue.
With six minutes remaining in the clash at the time of writing the Bulls are on the road to redemption for their heavy defeat last time out against the Chief.
Currently 39 – 21 up, Jake White’s side have put themselves firmly back in play-off contention.
