Steve Borthwick has announced his preliminary 36-man squad ahead of the final two rounds of the Six Nations following their recent loss against Scotland.
The changes, whilst minimal, show clear intent from the England head coach as he identifies the areas in which improvements need to be made.
A noticeable change in the back line is the inclusion of storming Bath winger Will Muir, replacing the thrilling Immanuel Feyi-Waboso who has an Exeter University medical exam this week.
Recent England A Player of the Match, Tom Pearson, also returns to the squad. Saying recently after his match against Portugal: “It’s always an honour to wear the Rose and play in whatever capacity so that was in the forefront of my mind. And to really try and impress and remember who I’m playing for – hopefully, I caught Steve’s eye and did things that he’s looking for and that he wants to see more of from me.”
Alex Dombrandt will also have the opportunity to reinvigorate his international career as he aims to impress in training ahead of the important final matches.
