Munster Rugby ended a twelve year trophy drought with a remarkable 19 – 14 win over the DHL Stormers in Cape Town.
Claiming the URC title by going on the road for all of their knockout games, Munster showed fortitude that harkened back to the glory days of the early 2000s.
Two time Heineken Cup champions with their 2006 & 2008 title runs, there is a generation of Munster fans who grew up with the province being a success.
Yet, given their last title was a league title back in 2011, there has been a generation of players and fans alike who had not yet seen the men in red win.
Of course, this all changed on Saturday, built on the back of several young stars coming off age. Munster’s title looks more like a springboard for future success than a final destination.
Summing up the feeling of everyone who follows the province, this young fans moment of joy is what Rugby is all about.
Just look at what it means to this young @MunsterRugby fan 🦌🔴
