South African sevens player Selvyn Davids was compared to footballing legend Diego Maradona for his spectacular kicking skills on show at Canada Sevens.
The 24-year-old chipped the ball over the Wales defence, made a cross field kick to himself and then produced a miraculous left foot nudge to his own teammate as the ball looked destined for the touchline.
Davids’s skill lead to South Africa’s third and final try of the game as they beat Wales 19-10 before going on to beat Chile and the USA to top Pool A.
🤭 There’s an obscene amount of skill in this @Blitzboks try. How good is Selvyn Davids? #Canada7s pic.twitter.com/myLTpVtovF
