With the World Cup just around the corner, nations are starting to release their official kits with mixed reviews so far. Ireland are the latest to release their 2023 World Cup kit and to say fans are a bit disappointed is an understatement.
Fans have been left “underwhelmed” by the new release, with many suggesting the colour is too ‘minty’ and has a ‘t-shirt’ look about it, as opposed to the traditional rugby shirt we are accustomed to.
In fact, Jonathan Drennan suggested that it “Looks like something you’d pick up in Moore Street market for 5 euro”, and Josh O’Donnell joked “Mint? Is it because that’s what the manufacturers hope to make from selling it? Not sure about this – will have to ask the TMO…”.
Having been er, ‘teased’ a few weeks ago, here’s a better and more normal look at the Ireland RWC shirt.
Must be said, proper lighting and models with jersey-appropriate rigs makes a big difference no? pic.twitter.com/sPLTH1fOBS

This all being said, when it comes down to it, it’s how the players perform on the pitch that really matters, as one fan said: “At the end of the day its dull, bit boring but I wont give a fiddlers f*** if we get to a final in it”.
Ireland get their World Cup campaign underway against Romania on the 9th of September in a group that also consists of Tonga, South Africa and Scotland.
