New Zealand’s All Blacks are one of sports great brands with their reputation reaching beyond the realms of professional rugby.
Thus, with such an iconic brand coming to their shores in November, rugby’s most improved tier one nation Italy have rolled out the red carpet for the men in black.
Whilst their regular home venue, the Stadio Olimpico, is an iconic venue in its own right, Italy will take their show on the road when they host the All Blacks at the world-renowned Allianz Stadium, home to Italian powerhouse football team Juventus.
Known for it’s ability to attract the biggest names in world football, Juventus have won Italy’s top division Serie A on 36 occasions as well as winning two UEFA Champions League titles.
Italy who are coming off the back of a highly successful Guinness Six Nations campaign which saw them win two matches and claim a draw that saw them rise to 8th on the World Rugby ranks will be hoping to continue the tradition of Italian sporting greatness at the venue.
Speaking about the test match, FIR (Italian Rugby Federation) President Marzio Innocenti said, “The All Blacks are an icon of international sport, as is Juventus.”
Paying homage to the All Blacks, the President went on to say, “To be able to welcome them once again to our country and to be able to do so in the best sporting facility in Italy adds a new element to the Federation that we are building, day by day.
“I would like to thank Juventus for making this agreement possible by adapting the facility to our game and the local institutions, from the Region to the City Council, who have strongly supported the return of Italy to Turin.
“Italy versus the All Blacks at the Allianz Stadium will be an unforgettable event, not only for the rugby community but for Italian sport as a whole.”
