Italy’s U20 team are on the cusp of history as they lead Ireland 17 – 15 in Cork at half-time.
Making most of the play, Ireland will be frustrated to be behind, having squandered several try-scoring opportunities.
On the flipside, Italy have been clinical when given half a chance and have scored two tries that caught Ireland off guard with a penalty from flyhalf Martino Pucciariello (son of former Munster legend Federico).

While the fly half has pulled the string masterfully, it is the performance of winger Marco Scalabrin that has caught the eye.
The 6’4″ winger has scored both of Italy’s tries with moments of individual brilliance. A product of the URC club Benetton, Scalabrin has previously said his rugby idol is Scotland international Duhan van der Merwe.
Playing like his idol this evening, Scalabrin looks to have a bright future ahead of himself.
